My Project: Sports in Stop Motion on the Whiteboard

Hey, I have worked on a project for a total of 6 hours, done a lot of research and editing, and here is the video:

I chose this project as I thought it would be both very fun and a challenge, and it turned out to be both. I used a whiteboard, a webcam, a laptop, and programmes such as HeliumFrog and Windows Live Movie Maker. I leant how to do this type of stop motion through various websites that I  searched up.

I had never done stop motion before, but now I think I'll do more of them as it was very fun. Hope you enjoy the video! I do not own the rights to the song! It is by Chiddy Bang and is called 'Truth'- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAfKc9x01_k&ob=av2e

Amazing 2D Cartoon-Like Handbags

I found these handbags from the website Bored Panda and thought they were really unique and amazing-the line of these handbags is called 'JumpFromPaper' created by design duo Chay Su and Rika Lin. I just thought these were very creative and very clever and very vibrant. I am interested in whether these look just as good in real life.

There have been several remixes or mash-ups that have been taken down, the most famous being many of the Hitler parodies.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson MandelaI am going to give a talk on Nelson Mandela soon in class, so I thought it would be cool to show you the info about him.

Intro
Nelson Mandela, born 18 July 1918, was South Africa's eleventh president and its first democratically elected. He served as president from 1994-1999.
Nelson Mandela protested against apartheid by leading the African National Congress (ANC). He was jailed for 27 years on a charge of sabotage and terrorism for his work with the ANC.
The apartheid government labelled him as a terrorist  but he was seen to end racial segregation internationally. He attended the University of South Africa and earned a bachelor’s degree while clerking a law firm.

What did he do
Mandela was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, who protested in peace for racial equality.

Apartheid was a way of life in 1950’s.
Mandela and other anti-apartheid protesters were arrested on charge of treason in 1956.
He stopped non-violent protest as he thought that these tactics were not successful so, seeing no other way, he led an armed division of the ANC.
This amounted to human rights violations as he killed some civilians, but he insisted that this was the only way to end racial discrimination.
Nelson Mandela was arrested 5th August 1962 and was freed 2nd February 1990. P.W Botha, the pro-apartheid South African president at the time, offered to free him in 1985 if Mandela stopped the armed conflict.
Mandela stayed in prison as he thought it was the right thing to do to end apartheid.
After his release, he plunged with all his heart into his work- to end racial discrimination
After apartheid was put to an end, Mandela was elected as South African president in 1994.
He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

Why is he so significant
Nelson Mandela is so significant and such an inspirational figure in history, as he ended racial segregation in South Africa putting in all of his effort, time and heart in. Mandela never gave up, he used determination to get through everything. He was passionate to end apartheid, and chose to suffer more time in prison so that he could end it.
Mandela put all of his in his goals, and achieved racial equality for all in South Africa.
He is looked up to as a hero to most- and is nicknamed ‘mkhulu’ by South Africans which is grandfather, and he is also called ‘madiba’, the Mandela family name for a respected elder.

11 Weird Professions

In this post, I will be talking about unusual professions in the world. Nowadays I always feel like writing lists for my posts for some reason. By the way, if you haven't already, check out this website: http://www.boredpanda.com/ it is so good when you're bored. So here come my list of weird professions

A hand model.

  1.   Vomit Cleaner:  Some theme parks employ people who are designated to clean up vomit from the rides.
  2. Dice Inspector:   This job is to literally inspect dice- dice inspectors look for any flaws on the dice that might affect gambling.
  3. Hand Model: This job came up in some movies I watched, such as Zoolander, but I didn't know that this was an actual job. So people make a living off their hands, nice!
  4. Fart Sniffer:  Apparently some people get paid to smell the farts of cows to determine their diet, balance, health, etc.
  5. Professional Sleepers: Must be such an easy job, but these pro sleepers are important to scientists to discover more about sleeping disorders such as insomnia.
  6. Paper Towel Sniffer:   Some actually smell paper towels and say whether they have an unusual smell to them. Again, who the hell does this?!
  7. Golf Ball Diver: Have you ever been to a golf course and hit a ball into the lake accidentally? Well, deep-sea divers are employed to go to the depths of the lakes in a golf course to retrieve lost golf balls.
  8. Professional Whistler: Yep, some people whistle tunes for a living.
  9. Ostrich Babysitter: According to two websites, a person is employed to be with ostriches and make sure they don't hurt each other or kill each other.
  10. Safe Cracker: These people can bust open locked safes, for a bit of money obviously.
  11. Snake Milker:   Snake milkers take venom from poisonous snakes to help in curing people who have been bitten. I would be too scared to this!

ICT project- New project on Michael Mcintyre

My project will be on Michael McIntyre as I realised there really isn't much to talk about in terms of card magic.

Here is a mini biography of him:

  • He was born February 21st 1976 in Merton, London, England.
  • He is well known as a comedian and has performed in places like Wembley and the Apollo.
  • He's really funny!
  • McIntyre is also now a judge in the ITV show 'Britain's Got Talent' alongside David Hasselhoff and Amanda Holden.
  • He is a host and has hosted many things- he was host of the Royal Variety Show in 2010 which is a variety show put on for the Royal Family. Also, he hosts his very own show called 'Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow' which is absolutely hilarious.
  • His wife's name is Kitty Ward and they have two children which he often talks about in his stand-up shows.
Yeah, so this is my new presentation, and I will keep you informed later on.

Pixels by Patrick Jean

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ou8vRWTSsJo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This is an amazing animation where urban sees retro. All the retro characters like pacman and donkey kong and space invaders invade the streets of NY where they create 8-bit chaos. Definitely one of the best animations ever made- it was executed so well and everything flowed so well.
In some animations it's more of a start stop process but in this video the whole short movie flowed beautifully.
I'm quite a fan of animations, mainly because they are entertaining, and when I came across this to do for my ICT presentation I was so happy!! If you haven't seen this already, you are missing out!! My favourite bit is when tetris is being played on the buildings of New York.

If the video doesn't show, then I'll give the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou8vRWTSsJo

Hope you like the video (I didn't make it by the way)
